Since she was a young girl, Karene Mordechai has had a strong passion for working with children and teaching. She has gained experience working with children over the past nine years, beginning at Fired Up Youth Sports, an educational program where she specialized in working one-on-one or in group sessions training and guiding children of all ages in a variety of sports. In 2016, Karene graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree at Florida Atlantic university, majoring in Elementary Education. Since graduation, she has had the opportunity to work with children ranging from ages two to fifteen, adjusting her teaching techniques to fit each child’s needs. Her support has ranged from private tutoring and academic support to executive function coaching and social skills as well as teaching Hebrew and Judaic Studies.
Karene is supportive, patient, professional, creative, and an initiator when it comes to teaching and working with children. She not only supports her fellow colleagues and students, but equally supports the parents. Karene has often been the first to recognize the need for specialized instruction and has been the catalyst for intervention. She enjoys seeing her students grow academically, and incorporates her creativity with learning to keep them fully focused; her support and patience allow children to take their time in understanding and learning and also building confidence and comfort with their studies.
In her free time, Karene enjoys going to the beach, reading novels and has most recently found a strong devotion to the practice of yoga. She practices at home and takes classes on a daily basis.
