Founded in 1957 as the Secondary School Admissions Test Board (SSATB), EMA rebranded in 2016 with the mission of providing unparalleled leadership and service in meeting the admission assessment and enrollment needs of schools, students, and families. EMA is the publisher of the SSAT, the developer of The Character Skills Snapshot, and the creator of the Standard Application Online (SAO) used by many independent day schools and boarding schools.
