Dr. Rebecca Elmaleh is a medical doctor who integrates Family Medicine and Homeopathic Medicine in her approach to health care. She treats patients of all ages with homeopathic treatments that are aimed at enhancing the body’s ability to heal itself. To date, Dr. Elmaleh has had over 20,000 patient visits strictly for homeopathic treatment of chronic medical illnesses. For many of these, Western medicine is not successful and/or likely to be associated with disturbing side effects.
Dr. Elmaleh received her medical doctorate (M.D.) from the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore. Trained and board-certified in Family Practice, she then went on to complete additional training in Homeopathic Medicine. After finishing her residency training in Family Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, Dr. Elmaleh worked at Betances Health Unit (BHU), a non-profit community health center in Manhattan’s Lower East Side affiliated with Beth Israel Medical Center. At BHU, she was the Medical Director for six years, supervising a staff of about 15 practitioners and nurses, as well as overseeing an expansion of the center from 5,000 patient visits a year when she took over to 15,000 when she left. While there, she also saw patients and practiced as a family physician, combining allopathic (conventional) and homeopathic therapeutic approaches.
In 1989, Dr. Elmaleh started her current practice. At the same time, she participated in a three-year course in Homeopathic Medicine and also did several internships in France in homeopathic hospitals, homeopathic health centers and homeopathic physicians’ private offices, some of whom are leading homeopaths in France and in the world.
She has lectured on homeopathic medicine in many different settings, including medical schools, residency programs, and conventional medical conferences. She has also taught a two-year course to physicians through Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Elmaleh is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Institute of Homeopathy, the oldest medical organization for physicians in the nation. She is currently the Vice President of the Homeopathic Medical Society of the State of New York.
Dr. Elmaleh has been featured in many publications, including the New York Daily News, Big Apple Parent’s Paper, Allure Magazine, Mirabella Magazine, and Fitness Magazine.
