Molly Levine is a professional private tutor with over 10 years of experience helping kids succeed in school as well as standardized testing.
Molly has a unique background with a BA in Theatre Arts from Brandeis University. She began her teaching career instructing after school theater and public speaking classes. This has shaped her philosophy on academic education. Molly subscribes to positive reinforcement and making challenging topics accessible through laughter and camaraderie.
Some career highlights include teaching writing, and interview workshops at Pepperdine University as part of the Korea Daily Leadership Program, overseeing and conducting a writing workshop for orphaned teenagers at Kid Save, and standardized test preparation classes at various academies around Los Angeles.
Molly enjoys working with adults, teenagers, and children alike. She has helped many high school students improve their ACT/SAT scores, as well as middle school students improve their ISEE/SSAT. She takes an individual approach to each student, fine tuning her lessons towards each child’s unique strengths.
In addition to academics, as an experienced actress and vocal coach, Molly has taught basic breathing techniques, as well as body language, gestures, volume, and articulation skills for the purpose of presentation confidence and stress management.
The competition to get into college and private school in New York City is incredibly fierce, and Molly focuses on teaching test taking techniques so that while the kids build math and language skills, they are also empowered to apply the techniques to daily schoolwork. Anxiety can often influence a student’s ability to shine, and she believes that through these digestible techniques, which focus on testing with clarity, efficiency, and organization, students can reduce making “silly mistakes.”
Molly loves empowering students through education and particularly likes building trust with students through ongoing homework help. She loves vocabulary building, reading comprehension, and writing in particular. She appreciates giving her students a competitive edge.
Some of her main focuses include:
- Test preparation (SAT, ACT, ISEE/SSAT, HSPT)
- Reading comprehension
- Homework help (English, History, Math, Science)
- Public speaking
- Organization and executive functions
