Anne Hayes has a wide range of teaching and private tutoring experience; she has taught pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in Washington, D.C. public, charter and private schools. Throughout her teaching career, she has successfully taught students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Most notably, Anne was recognized by Achievement Network for teaching the highest performing second grade class in their D.C. network of schools in the 2014-2015 school year. Anne graduated from the University of Wisconsin with distinction; she earned her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Trinity University.
Anne attributes her students’ high level of success to her differentiation and personal dedication to her students. Her experience teaching grades pre-kindergarten through 5th has made her well versed in child development and the continuum of learning at the elementary grades. Anne has worked with children with various learning disabilities, including ADD/ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, speech impairments and intellectual disabilities. By identifying and meeting their individual needs, she builds a strong and rigorous rapport with each student.
When she’s not teaching, Anne enjoys cooking, reading and exploring the D.C. area.
