After graduating from Columbia Law School and years of experience as an attorney, Marc switched gears to pursue a career in education. Currently, he is earning his Master’s degree and certification in Adolescent (Grades 7-12) English Education at Hunter College.
While the career switch is relatively new, Marc has been involved in education informally for years. As a lawyer, he frequently mentored other attorneys in improving their professional writing and research. Also, as an award-winning playwright and musical theater lyricist, Marc participates regularly in writing groups and workshops, and he always finds great satisfaction in working with other writers and artists on honing their craft and skills.
Through the Fresh Air Fund, East Harlem Tutorial Program, and Writopia Lab, Marc has been working with middle-school students on all aspects of literacy and English Language Arts, including reading, composition, literature, creative writing and public speaking. In 2014, Marc began working at Amplify Education, where he develops experiential, interactive digital and print ELA curricula.
From the world of law, Marc brings to his students an attention to detail and a passion for clear and concise written and oral expression. From the world of theater, he brings a rich imagination, love of collaboration and knack for creative problem-solving. In keeping with his diverse background, Marc’s teaching style combines rigor and high expectations with warmth, fun and invention.
In his down time, Marc loves reading and exploring New York City. He is also learning to play the piano and clarinet.
