Lisa Pinchover

Lisa Pinchover brings a distinct combination to My Learning Springboard – she has worked both as a research assistant as well as a tutor.  Lisa recently graduated from New York University where she completed a major in Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies in conjunction with being on the pre-med track. Lisa plans to attend medical school in the fall of 2012 and is currently working for a dermatologist in New York City.

Lisa has spent the past two summers working at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine on research projects and shadowing different physicians. During the school year she has tutored for private school students as well youth who come from disadvantaged homes. Her tutoring has ranged from SAT prep to science courses for both high school and college students.

At New York University, Lisa completed many advanced science courses, including Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Biochemistry.  After completing these courses and spending summers in lab research, Lisa has a well-developed understanding of complex concepts in the sciences and enjoys privately tutoring middle and high school students.

To compliment her undergraduate major, Lisa studied abroad in Rabat, Morocco and spent nine months volunteering in Israel. While in Israel, Lisa tutored senior citizens in English so that they could better communicate with their friends and family in America. Lisa’s experience studying and teaching foreign languages has refined her skills as a tutor for all ages and levels.

Lisa is also an avid reader and hiker, most recently conquering Mt. Washington, and she is hoping to take on Kilamanjaro next!
