With over 10 years as a music and Jewish educator, Faryn’s expertise includes classroom instruction, private tutoring, curriculum & program development, and working with students with special needs. After many years in the classroom, Faryn decided to combine her two passions–music and Judaics. Currently, she is pursuing a Cantorial degree at Hebrew Union College in NYC.

Faryn holds a B.M. in Music Education from Miami University of Ohio with a minor in Jewish Studies. She also earned her Master’s Degree in Music Education from Montclair State University. Faryn is experienced at instructing 17 instruments as well as voice lessons. Additionally, Faryn supports students in their preparation for Bar & Bat Mitzvah celebrations.

Faryn is in her 5th and final year of cantorial studies at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Faryn is also the Student Cantor at North Country Reform Temple, on Long Island, where she works closely with the rabbi, planning and leading services, as well as teaching music classes and prayer classes in the Hebrew school.  Additionally, Faryn tutors all of the Bar and Bat Mitzvah students at the synagogue.  Most recently, Faryn has been doing independent study work with the Union for Reform Judaism’s Task Force for Access to Life Long Jewish Education, whose main goal is to make the general public more aware of disabilities, as well as make synagogues, camps, and other Jewish institutions more disability friendly.

In her spare time, Faryn enjoys running, cooking, reading and classical music.
