Becky recently graduated from Cornell University, where she double-majored in English and History and minored in Film Studies and French. In college, Becky was fortunate to find summer internships at prestigious companies like Random House and the popular online comedy website CollegeHumor. Upon graduation, she accepted a position at one of the leading international literary scouting agencies, Linda Clark Associates. A large part of her job includes reading manuscripts and analyzing their strengths and weaknesses for international publishers and ABC. An avid believer that one should actively pursue as many of one’s interests as possible, Becky continues to explore her passion for film as a virtual intern for Infinity Management International, a Los Angeles-based management and production company. Working remotely from New York, her primary role as an intern is to conduct script and book coverage.
Becky has over five years of experience private tutoring high school and college students. She first discovered her love for teaching when she was selected to tutor for her high school through The Writing Center at The Masters School. Working one-on-one with her peers, Becky realized the tremendously positive impact that a personalized learning experience has on a student’s work and confidence. She further solidified her love for tutoring when, as a college sophomore, she began to work at Cornell’s Knight Institute, where she served as a writing tutor for undergraduate and graduate students. Working at the Knight Institute for three years gave her experience developing essays in a vast range of subjects, including Biology, Economics, and for school/program applications. She was specifically trained to aid multilingual writers as well.
In addition to writing, Becky is a French and History tutor. She fully immersed herself during her semester abroad in Paris her junior year, selecting a program where she lived with a host family and enrolled directly in a French university. Through this experience she gained an appreciation for French culture that goes beyond textbooks, and has retained her high proficiency in French. As a History major, she specialized in U.S. and Russian/European history.
Becky spends her free time screenwriting, running, knitting, and traveling whenever possible.
