Aleeza Lubin

Aleeza Lubin

Aleeza is a Director and math specialist with My Learning Springboard, overseeing case management, curriculum design, standardized test preparation, and service-learning.  Her diverse background inspired her to masterfully teach many subjects from anthropology to calculus. She began her teaching career in Toronto, Ontario at the largest private Jewish High School in North America. During her tenure, she taught numerous subjects in math, social sciences, health, and physical education. She led the 9th grade math team with responsibilities for developing assessments, designing the algebra 1 and 2 curricula, and demonstrating lessons for colleagues.  Aleeza is skilled at engaging all learning modalities to help students achieve success. She is also experienced leading professional development and successfully mentoring teachers.

Committed to lifelong learning herself, Aleeza first completed an undergraduate honors degree in History at York University. Then she pursued multiple degrees in secondary education at the University of Toronto specializing in mathematics, history, and health and physical education. In 2009, Aleeza completed her Master’s Degree in American Studies at Columbia. Aleeza loves exploring New York City and was recently published as one of the Assistant Editors for The Encyclopedia of New York City, authored by Kenneth Jackson.

Aleeza also works as a Director for BBYO responsible for achieving programmatic excellence in both local and regional programs across the Midwest regions of the United States and Canada. Her work involves leading professional development and training for staff and volunteers as well as providing supervision and consultation. Formerly, Aleeza was the Director of Service Learning at a national non-profit social justice organization where she combined her passions for both education and social justice. She led a team in designing education–based service trips to communities in need across the country, while also providing professional development and consultation.

Aleeza tutors students in all secondary math and humanities subjects. She has additional expertise preparing students for the ISEE, SATs, SHSAT, SAT IIs (math and US History), and Regents (math and U.S. History).

In her spare time, Aleeza can be found exploring New York City and Chicago, two cities she loves very much.  One day she hopes that her time and energy spent watching the Food Network will translate into real kitchen skills.
